When decibel indication (here 38 dB) is generally always is an average, calculated from all individual sounds that can give the device on its own. To determine the value, there is no standard, ie every manufacturer measures as it sees fit. So a very relative value which is often glossed over. So this can ultimately only be judged individually, only when the unit is at its destination.
In this regard, I was deeply disappointed immediately after start-up and was about to despair. The engine roared namely for a long time really took off, like a very old device. After repeated reading closer the description that was normal and mandatory, thus rapidly cooled, an exceptional situation! Typically, to maintain the selected interior temperature, the engine is running but with a greatly reduced speed, thus barely audible. The product may thus be in the bedroom. And I am in terms of noise emissions, really very critical.
The device is not designed exclusively for freestanding use, but can be removed by the worktop integrated into a fitted kitchen.
As a small disadvantage I see the lack of "No-Frost" - function. It had shipped from the factory (also aware of my part) in favor of the excellent low power consumption values (A +++) can be omitted. Defrost every 1-2 years time and clean up is acceptable.
