The product description does not promise too much. As SSD comes with me a Samsung 840Pro with 512GB are used. Under OS X 10.9.1 I could understand the read and write rates shown here: Writing - about 400-410 MB / s Read - about 420-430 MB / s Thus, a perfect complement to the MacBook Pro Retina. I tested previously the following workflows: Parallels Desktop VM's: Windows 7 - will start in about 25 seconds (previously USB 3.0 Hard Drive - 1:30 min) Windows 8.1 - will start in about 15 seconds (previously USB 3.0 hard drive - about 45 seconds)
About Lightroom catalogs react as you'd expect. Previews are almost there, if you select a picture (15 MP RAW files).
The case itself is made as described already often quite ok. What actually need are rubber feet. Especially considering the fact that the housing including SSD weighs next to nothing. The cable is slightly thick fall and quite stiff. Since this superficial trifles are "only" and represents with the performance in the foreground, it falls to me not personally significant.
