Spätze & Violence Re-Loaded!

20 years after its About classic "Uuaarrgh!" and 10 years after, somewhat parlous state, farewell album "Anderster" and the following dissolution of the band, now appeared the latest work by Axel Kurth & Co .:

PUNK GIBTS not in vain! (PART III)

And what the new album is a hammer ... become 21 brand new songs in the best "Uuaarrgh!" or "Stay Brave! / Für'n A ****! fashion! Maybe even the best WIZO album of all time!

WIZO whirled through the German punk scene of the 90s. Where other bands relied on slogans-like, dogged political lyrics and the whole hardcore sound set to music, WIZO sounded always Melodycore Californian stamping. In the style of NOFX, Pennywise, Bad Religion and his associates. Lyrically not put it on tight. Politics? Clear! But Fun in the style formerly THE DOCTORS ...

Farin, Bela and Rod name WIZO actually even as the opening act on tour. But even small gigs were WIZOs thing. Unforgotten For me the gig in 1994 in a village disco in Mönchengladbach, somewhere on the A **** in the world. And of course, the farewell concert in Krefeld KuFa ...

I "stumbled" the first time in local WIZO "Hitsville Record Store". Since anno stood 1992/93 "Für'n A ****! / Stay Brave" CD on the shelf. But somehow gymnastics me at the time from the cover. Looked more like demo and somehow cheap. And the boys also had long hair! Prejudices have then prevented me from buying the thing. Damn!

But In 1993, took the first WIZO slice their way into my collection: The "All That She Wants" EP. I love Punk Covers, therefore had to be purchased this brilliant version of Ace of Base Hits naturally. I was excited!

In the inner part of the CD, the band then pointed to their previous Voes. The then had to willy-nilly be also purchased ...; D

So back to Krause of "Hitsville" and bought the first CD that I had formerly spurned from bias (of course, the uncensored version!).

"Such BS ****!" I found still quite mixed. Clear, "No talk" was an instant classic, but somehow the album was still immature. And relatively poorly produced ... In addition, I found the English songs of WIZO mostly unnecessary. On the German Sindelfingen were already getting better!

"Stay Brave!" then was a very different number! Since WIZO ran for the first time on top form. Production was still a bit boring, but songs and lyrics were terrific! The subject of death runs like a red thread through the plate without tilting in a stupid concept. I was excited.

In addition, at that time still wandered the "glue" 7 "from 1991 and the legendary" Roy Black is dead, "Single of 1992 on the counter. Of course, the first edition of the" Pippi "song on the B-side ... Both Class disks! Pity that the songs available on CD are not available in versions (only the "glue" single was again re-recorded as a bonus for "All That She Wants" ...)

In 1994 broke the monster "Uuaarrgh!" upon us. Here everything was right: text, music, sound! Unfortunately Axel & Co. still does not stay away from the English lyrics, but this time the songs were not as negative on. But the opener "headshot" made me, as a fan of the 80's Political German punks very happy! The rest of the album was equally awesome. Fun, politics and nonsense ... all there! And music that had to hide from bands like NOFX, Propagandhi, etc. Millencolin not! Consequently, there was later a stripped down version of "Uuaarrgh!" on Fat Wreck Chords, the label of NOFX singer Fat Mike.

Just one year later the Swabians gladdened us with the EP "Herrénhandtasche". Unfortunately, far too short, but with "square in circle" this EP contained one of the most intense WIZO songs ever! To date, a piece of goose bumps! Especially live!

In 1996, then, after the scandal appearance on the "Bizarre Festival", the "Nuazo" Single out. Without much publicity and notice. Today a coveted collector's item ...

Thereafter, the air seemed to be out. WIZO disappeared from the scene. Published in 1997 nor the "Christmas stinks!" Split EP with the Japanese HI-STANDARD and 1998, the "Kraut & beet" EP on Fat Wreck Chords, who had but just summarized previously released songs for the American / international market.

1999 mixed the album "German punk revolt" of Ur Punx STC (Würmtal ticks) on the punk underground. Allegedly, an original from the early 80s, but never released. Eventually it turned out that there were WIZO, the one, admittedly very good, Gag had allowed. Quite a few are on the legend that was printed in Plastic Bomb Fanzine and in the booklet, fallen. The disc sound but also condemned after 1981 ...; D

Then was from WIZO finally deflated ...

2004 saw then, very late, the album "Anderster" out. With the announcement, the band now definitively adopted to bury. Unfortunately, the album did not meet the expectations of a new album WIZO. Sure, some songs are already in a good direction, but overall the album was rather mau ... Sorry!

There was a great farewell tour. And that was it ...

We thought ... 2009, the band then their resurrection known and played 2010, a few festivals ...

... Only to again fall into slumber. Although it was now and then musing publicly about a new album, but felt nothing was happening ...

But in June 2014, had come: The WIZO Newsletter announced its Release of "Punk's not for free, Part II" as a download, a month before the release of the CD!

And what came out of it was the album of 2004, all would have liked! Replete with great songs, reminiscent of the wedding of WIZO, without copying them! Politics, Fun and Nonsense ... yes, WIZO can it still!
A tour has been announced for the autumn ... the new songs will fit perfectly into the set list because there is no doubt. If only it would have November ...

WIZO are back and it is finally "spaetzle & VIOLENCE!"
