To put it straight from the start to say I'm a die hard PS3 players and have initially gained me alone for Alan Wake Xbox 360, but I will go later a little closer.

I play for my life like 1st and 3rd person shooter as well Adventures and Mystery Thriller since Alan Wake was unfortunately never released for the PS3, I have now decided to give me zuzulegen also an Xbox. Driven by the many positive reviews here but also some interesting negative I was very curious what awaits me.

The game:

I have to start the Normal chosen because I am so far quite well used, even when the meissten other games and I was required from start to finish the game in about equally, there was really no place that I had to repeat more often than 3 times. The save points in the game are quite fair distributed so that the 2nd failure does not pay the same frustration.

The story of the game is convincing and the same tie, the characters seem believable and authentic and you will be made gradually with the most important trust from the outset. Personally, I have always something problems if too many people are from the beginning of a game or film presented and with them also to many names, which sometimes confused and makes the pursuit of the story severe. When Alan is certainly not the case.
The end of the story, or the story I will not write much that is not written in many other posts here at some length. Writer with writer's block makes with his wife Lakeside Holidays to let inspiration for a new book, but this will disappear shortly afterwards and in "Bright Falls", the small provincial town on the lake, happen suddenly strange and mysterious things, while Alan on the search for their power.

For graphics:

I've never seen a game with such a coherent, detailed and beautiful graphics, while still being able to enjoy such a fastzinierende foresight as in Alan Wake, no matter where in the game you are currently one can see "as far as the eye can see". At the beginning of each level it is necessary, for example, from a mountain down to bleed through a forest to a Takstelle lying on the other end of a ravine. One can speak always see how far the gas station is still away, which I think can motivate well, especially if the ammunition is scarce and not tear off the attacks of the possessed. The effects of fog, darkness, wind and light seem so realistic that sometimes me a cold shiver ran down his spine when the woods suddenly fog coupled with an ominous gust of wind occurred. Exactly so relieved I was against it when I in the distance a lantern in the fog looked healing and protection promised. Made really awesome !! Finally a game that so beautifully plays with light and shadow and this so right into the action with brings.
What I can here, however, sympathize with some negative contributions is the somewhat uncharitable design of the characters that looked very stiff and sometimes emmotionsschwach compared to the rest around, it's a pity that the developers have this, somewhat neglected for such a game, the important point. Despite everything that changes nothing in my gesammt opinion about this game.

The sound:

In my opinion, makes for a good horror game also 50 percent of the sound from the absolutely correct accompanied and accompanies the events during the whole game. So dangerous situations or the sudden appearance of shadow beings are perfect announced with music, as well as in a horror flick. Also very successful.

Control and handling:

Although I already described above, the first had plays on the Xbox 360, I came up with the control handle very well, it is precisely the camera work is almost always clearly and logically, only downside: if you have started an action (door unlock, switch Press etc ...) can not just cancel again to this. When I, for example, once wanted to open a door and but Barry was in the way, this problem is read only by restarting the last memory point repeat because Alan has ever tried to come to the door lock but it has simply not achieved because Barry stood before it, just as the operating switches while is attacking an opponent. Only after the first hit, the player gets back the "authority" on Alan. Fortunately very rare moments in the game, still in need of improvement.

Summary:

All in all, Alan Wake is a very good and really consistent game, I felt untrerhalten from start to finish and I had "only the level" feeling that I unfortunately too often miss at any save point in this play. Although the action mainly limited here to Bright Falls, the Loccation was not really boring. The forests, the small town, from time to time, a junkyard, a highway, a campsite, a deserted village, a power plant .... all this just fits the game, I did not expect even in ner desert, sometimes in the Arctic and then to play back on an aerodrome. Only what had been missing was a level when it rains, or during electrical storms have been due to the gloomy mood.
I also find that during the game to attack opponents and often only time the hordes are slightly larger to call for the player, unfortunately, that brings my opinion, a routine with them. In the last two levels I'm not careful and prudent sneaked through the levels, but more ala "where you are, I'll crush you!". Armed appropriate haten opponents virtually no more and you know exactly how to defend against their attacks and counters chance. Better would have been the attacks and rare but instead to make schweerer to maintain the creepiness to the end.
Nevertheless !: Alan Wake is my first XBOX 360 game and it was certainly not my last, even if my Uncharted series still a tick better like it, I'm thoroughly satisfied and bereuhe my purchase not. Hope you come back for more games like Alan Wake on the market ...
