Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (Paperback)

Customer Review

... Radiates this story.

The memory of the collapsing towers of the WTC produce today melancholy, sadness and heaviness in me. This book packs in all of these feelings and play with them in a wonderfully written story about an autistic boy and his search for what was his father before he died in one of these towers.

The story develops from here to a 3 generations spanning braid that with love and hate, anger and sensuality, fear and courage appeals to all great emotions that can create words.

For me, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" an absolute reading experience, in which times were tears of compassion, times (and more often) in the eyes of laughter.

Just in the same league as books like Owen Meany by John Irving.
