Short for info: I started with a 7170 and then I changed after a few years to 7270 .... before I then, finally (my jetztige FritzBox) went precisely because of those reasons, which I will also want to perform to over 7390 am.
Those looking for just a simple router, here is ever wrong - the Fritz boxes are inherently eierlegende Wollmilchsäue and offer in terms of features pretty much everything that you can find on the market. With the latest firmware also features Smart Home (the remote control of heating, electricity and Co. So) are integrated. All these features have but obviously in 7270, the consequence of that has been spared in terms of quality.
First of all, the wireless range: Although the three antennas suggest otherwise, the wireless range is disastrous. Inside the home breaks the wireless connection sometimes after only 10 meters completely together - two rooms away and there's nothing more to receive. Which one can indeed counteract by repeaters, but nothing changes the real problem.
Similarly mies is the DECT reception: Two rooms away, and the calls are garnished with noise or break away entirely.
Finally, I can in the past few years report an extreme failure frequency of the Fritz boxes. As I said: In the family a total of 4 of these boxes, of which each year at least 2 returned for repair or replacement. From the total failure to noise in the telephony, missing features or permanent Internet crashes are the fault pics here very numerous and seem my experience after only in this model series to accumulate. Neither 7170 nor 7390 are of such a frequency of malfunctions.
Hence my recommendation: If there is to be a Fritz box, then save and not resort to this model, but might take the 7390 directly. The faster not only in Wi-Fi, but also ensures the daily operation for less hassle.
