The audio Y-Soft is a total of 16cm long. From the combo connector on the PC from the cable go directly separate and are not bound only halfway still together. The outputs for microphone and headphones are color-coded and clearly bear in addition the color again in respective plug incorporated symbolizing green = headphones and red or pink for microphone. The connector ends are also still flexible enough to cushion occurring cable loads. For other companies, sometimes the plug on the cable output are too rigid and it can be as cable breaks occur. Here seems to be solved at all three connectors well. The plug contacts are gold-plated to form a good contact surface on the connectors. The combo assignment is suitable for my notebook from Asus. Interestingly, the quality is better than with a USB external sound card with this part. Surely even the quite times occurring tensile load on a jack is significantly more resistant than the tensile load at a USB soundcard. The attacking leverage in an incorrect headset movement is simply reduced significantly. In addition, as a USB slot for more other external devices remains free.
Conclusion: Even with the higher price to me at least the technical solution appears very good. For software dictations or other headset operations this adapter has proved better than an external USB sound card.
