Attention: OSX Mavericks and TWAIN drivers

SOLUTION:
The download package (software and drivers) of the German Canon Page is in my opinion not currently compatible with Mavericks! You have to use the package of Canon USA, that was the only thing that worked for me!

Basically, the device:
Scan quality and speed I find very good, especially since it is intended "only" for mobile use.
The supplied software I tested only once, since I use a rule Adobe X Pro: Has everything works so far, of course, everything a little easier, not many editing options, etc. However, an OCR text recognition coinciding with this, therefore have a nice little walkthrough which one gets here.

However, the supplied "pocket" or whatever one should call it is quite disappointing. Gives no protection against anything and looks short of cheap. Since you should look for something else if you have the device often out and about.
