Here it should be noted that I have not just made a copy of my old hard drive and all the files have then played at the new SSD (ie not a clone of the old hard drive), but I just specifically the applications and files that I really need on the new SSD was installed. War with the pre-installed in the Mac program "Migration Assistant" straightforward, and I think the slightly higher cost is absolutely worth it.
Benefits:
+ Super easy installation, SSD was immediately recognized
+ Great fabrication
+ Very easy (I was totally surprised how easily this feels SSD)
+ Very fast!
Then I would like to get a little more detail. What was really remarkable for me in everyday use immediately:
+ The startup time of the MacBook Pros has 1 minute 46 seconds to only 19 seconds !! increased. Sensational.
+ Any programs whether Internet (Safari), Email, Word, Pages, calendar, iTunes, or other open much faster. This increases my workflow tremendously and just plain fun.
Thus, these SSD met exactly my expectations.
Disadvantages:
- So far I could fortunately remark anything negative
The only thing that confused me at first even the purchase was not standing on the Amazon side of this SSD about compatibility with Mac OS. However, this uncertainty could be quickly remedied with a Google search. As the Transcend website can be seen, the following are the system requirements of the SSD:
Windows series:
- Microsoft Windows 8
- Microsoft Windows 7
- Microsoft Windows XP
- Microsoft Windows Vista
- Etc
Linux series:
-Fedora 13
-Ubuntu 9:10
-Solaris 10
-etc
Embedded system.
-WinXP Embedded
-WinCE
-etc
Mac OS 10.4 or later
DOS version
Overall, I can only recommend this SSD. Although I personally still can gain experience with another SSD, but I am very pleased with the Transcend SSD340 and hope that there are others who opt for this SSD will be. But I'm not worried about it.
