I ordered the cable because I wanted my rooten Chromecast the Teensy Board, for that I need necessarily an external power source in the cable.
I then again out of curiosity tried my 750GB 2.5 "external hard drive to connect with extra power of a cell phone charger that also goes without a hitch.
One could point out a small error: When operating the cable to a 10.1 "tablet is approx 1cm too short so that the plug can be on the table, the heavy USB connection so always hangs in the air at the filigree tablet connector tuned ...
