I agree with many other speakers, but I think the time of the stand-alone navigation solutions is over. I have tested the Oregon extensively for 10 days and feel both the operation, the readability of the display as well as the technical implementation as outdated.
Give it no such alternatives. Ex. Smartphone Motorola Defy +, or Sony Ericsson Xperia Active would certainly get me 5 stars, the Garmin.

Personally, I wanted to use the Garmin device for portfolios with OpenStreetMap, but also for hiking and biking. The Garmin goes back today and I am looking forward to the Xperia Active, although I will certainly sacrificing battery life - with a second battery is then obligatory.

As I said, I would like to not detract from the power of Oregon, but me personally has a outdoor smartphone with z.Bsp. Locus Maps much more possibilities for comparable price.
