Well. , , the sometimes very good reviews have led me to my collection to expand a Zoom binoculars. As I gained experience with Nikon is always best, I tried this glass in comparison with the Pentax UCF Zoom II 8-16 x21. Of course, I realized that the zoom effect, the optical imaging in the image clarity and brightness greatly reduced but I've just expected more and this expectation was not fulfilled in two glasses. The Nikon Aculon is as specified, the improved successor to the Eagle View ??? hard to believe!! Only the imaging performance in the 8 x magnification can with no Niko glass around the 60, - keep up. When you move the glass above the horizon creates quite a globe effect. The diopter adjustment - which I otherwise do not need but here unfortunately - was at my glass very fiddly and inaccurate. Perhaps this also mentions that something was wrong with the adjustment ex works. Otherwise, processing is quite ok but feels far less wertig like the model from Pentax.
The zoom setting is smooth and adjustable. From the 20s Zoom I also got asked not nearly the focus. That, of course, still very shaky is the magnification in the nature of things and is not a disadvantage of the product. Add to this the extremely decreases the brightness and thus both - dark and blur - very uncomfortable for my eyes felt. Since coming to no fun looking at least for me.
In direct comparison, I would opt for the Pentax as it is on the settings feel and the handling much angenhmer and also nearly 50, - cheaper. For this, the 16 x magnification comes with these small lenses during the day just as much light enters an arises a reasonably stable and bright image for brief moments.
After my little foray into the world of binoculars Zoom I am but then landed again happy with my conservative models :-)
