Looking for a beginner-Tele with a good price-performance ratio, I came across the Canon EF-S 55-250. After two weeks of testing and approximately 200 shots, I can only say I am very satisfied. Once the front path, of course you can create more money and gets correspondingly more power and quality. But to me it was important to upgrade cheaper price for entry to any with more experience on a semi-pro lens, light weight for the beginning, image stabilizer for more reserves in hands-free recording and autofocus works reasonably quiet and tidy quickly. All these good qualities united in my view, the EF-S 55-250 Canon in itself. This is also confirmed by numerous tests. The build quality is good, the lens can be screwed easily (I use it with an EOS 1000D), the autofocus of course does not work as a US, but just enough for landscapes and for most sporting situations. The volume of AF, I could not really perceive much less classify as disturbing especially when shooting outdoors. The erratic behavior of AF I can not understand also, if necessary, you have to stop playing with the focus points. For me it works in any case fairly decent and a blurred image of 15 I, unlike my compact digital, with my DSLR almost always there, just when shooting from 100mm. The stabilizer does its job well, can confirm the shutter speed of 1/30, even here one can often still achieve steady shots. In sum, I can only say, 5 stars for the good ratio of price and performance. Lenses that can much more there is certainly a lot that costs then also correspondingly more. On the subject of sun visor, I have the ET-60 ordered me directly, the absence does not justify the trigger for me, is just Canon Policy.
