With the existing equipment, I am completely satisfied. For this reason I have decided for a Petrol Verticutter by AL-KO. Of course, the attractive price played in the purchasing decision with a.
The equipment was delivered in the usual fast OVP Amazon. The assembly was also relatively easy and fast by hand (Installation time about 45 minutes). After filling up with consumables (oil & gas) the engine started on the first train with no problem.
Before it came to scarifying, I tried at the 5X - setting the knife depth, which posed no problem at all. The remaining operation of the device is self-explanatory and can be done intuitively.
Info for lawn area:
My 800 square meters of lawn is relatively smooth. The moss and the Pfilz was now densely present. Two weeks earlier, I had this already but added with iron fertilizer.
Unmittelbat before scarifying I had again the lawn nicely mowed short.
I wanted to scarify the surface in the second highest position measurement. In the second step, I would then scarify crosswise and possibly put the knife still one step lower.
So with plenty of optimism I began to work, but quickly I lost the fun at the device.
It turned out that the engine in the second highest position ever got stuck in the moss and strangled. I thereupon the knife to the highest level and the Verticutter managed in some places still not to fulfill his destiny.
Then came the next problem with the plastic wheels. The right front wheel has already begun with the first application for eggs considerably. Although the left wheel wobbled not so much, but a tendency to wobble was clearly seen here as well.
The plastic wheels are really of very poor quality and are more reminiscent of the wheels of toy lawnmower my little daughter.
Added to this is more, you have to drive at Vertikutrieren with some overlap to the previous path to edit the entire surface. If Moss is on the previous path yet, be wrapped in such a way that at the close on the housing adjacent wheels, that they eventually no longer rotate.
One could certainly point to the use of Fangkobs, but who has ever scarify, will make sure not even the trouble of assembling a collection box. The Fangkob would probably be completely full after 2 -3 meters.
------------------------------------------------
Due to the wobbly wheels I have dismantled the scarifier again and returned to Amazon.

Conclusion:
The scarifier is not practical in my opinion. The engine does not have enough power for a petrol engine and the wheels can be a really cheap only advise against the device.
I'll probably have to look for another scarifier. Since you buy a scarifier once, I'll probably grab some extra cash in hand and to the device in red and yellow packaging. There, the wheels have ball bearings and the B & S engine has significantly more steam.
