Resident Evil, the Selbsternante mother of survival horror heard back and presented in knotless NextGen optics. Granted may be true in terms of sound and appearance all somehow, but as in the predecessor, Resident Evil 4, is here no longer a Resident Evil in the true sense and unfortunately the game confirmed only too often the phrase "graphic is not all nunmal ". More on this later.

The story takes place, as in so few parts, no longer in the United States in Raccoon City, but has now found its main core in Africa and indeed in the small, fictional land called Kijuju. After the Umbrella Corp, the veterans could be a notion so, the incidents have heaped in which strikes terror with biological weapons around. This is where our hero comes `s Game: Chris Redfiled - also an old acquaintance of this matter to investigate. Subtle changes and with upper arms that are almost twice the size of his head, but why should the time go by without a trace digital hero, right?
During the game the whole outgrowths of these new terrorist incidents in any case only clear and soon more and more well-known figures joined added which can converge the history of all Resident Evils to, in my opinion, the final act of wearing definitively the series to the grave. In short it means: After this game, you can complete the previous incidents and everything still comes must be no more.

A main element of the plot is also the importance of a functioning partnership which is also shown in various clichés. Similar to the principle of "good twin, evil twin", there are couples who are on the good and the less good side. Well, as you can see, the story is despite Hollywood music and optics course again no blockbusters and also quite a few conversations in the game emphasize "approve" the character of a B-movie, but this has always been in the series like this. But that also ends there the similarities with previous titles, because as already mentioned, it is like Resident Evil 4 rather an action game or a 3rd Persion shooter. Backtracking when an item was forgotten and puzzles there really is not back because everything is presented in beautiful appetizers and is distributed so that the liniare path passes more or less it. Focus is quite simply really in it to fight the hordes of enemies and deal as specifically as possible with, compared to Resident Evil 4, a few ammunition. Nevertheless, there are far more ammunition than ever and I personally find that the measure is still pretty neat. Panic for lack of ammunition is not as often as some people think, but this may vary from player to player. The "fire your weapon only when it is no longer" factor, ie the "survival" of the first part is here therefore not to be found again - too bad.

Is mixed this "Shooter orgy" with some QuickTime events where there to push an inserted key combination or as often as possible a specific key as soon as possible. Generally not mind, but sometimes you're more likely entranced the cutscenes seen as important to ensure whether you still have to do something in the fraction of a second in this.

New gameplay is the subject menu which, when calling the game weitertummelt herself merry and the co-op mode, which actually is permanently available, whether it be via NPC-controlled friend or a flesh and blood on the Internet or a second controller with split screen (both not tested). A Merch Aries mode may incidentally also not be missed and to the extent confirmed Capcom is this included in the PAL version. Newly announced is for the latter multiplayer part by the way a VS mode, which you can get via download. In this you can then compete against each other and make the best of the best. My case is not these bonus modes, however. Even the erspielbaren costumes, Gashapon figurines and optical filters for the main game are rather sobering in my eyes.

Suitable for the co-feature and the "Partner-story train" must of course lend a helping hand in the game and not be missing so that more innovation is built we create sometimes just a female sidekick named "Sheva Alomar". The question, however, one thing: If everything is now designed more for speed and action, why can you not run simultaneously and shoot? Yes, you heard right, the protagonists remain the attack still standing, but even so you can arangieren.
This is true but also on some opponents. This enraged come running up just then before the players to slow down before they attack, many an opponent is just stupid around and looking into space.

The sound and looks are as already mentioned at the beginning incredibly well and show how a NexGen game can look. It is also blown scary when you see the pompous excesses of some things in the game, but ultimately turns quote at least with me but rehct quickly a gaping void, because almost every chapter it is somehow always the same.

Otherwise, you spend too much time in another déjà vus. The animations, the opponents, and even crates and barrels in which objects are present look kinda like they're really only 1: 1 come from Resident Evil 4. Ever keeps the game not having deja vu back to what it can also be a little more negative. A truly negative experience remains for us anyway spared and should not be swept under the carpet: Typewriters.

Yes, they are gone and yes I miss them. Granted the dusty storage system was always a bit annoying, but even now you can save only at certain points even more just automatically. You can not just go back and save a success, no, you have up to one end of a chapter or to a reset point wait is stored. I find personally a little bad, but the divorce the spirits.

As already mentioned the entrance: The game is more or less constitute an end to the series, and for me that's also guaranteed. While it is nice to see how everything was and how to build self Vernüpft to Resident Evil Zero reference, but this is really good to learn only in written form on the "Library" in the main menu. In the game itself passier more or less zero and at the end I at least I asked myself "that's it?". Granted, the game looks very good and the music is great too, but the story? No CAPCOM, just towards the end, I had something bombastic expected something that the look and the sound is equal. What was delivered in my eyes is a joke and insufficient. This end we had in almost every Resident Evil to date and really can not be. As absurd as most points in the game and are can I even think that we have to join another resurrection of various figures, which I do not really hope for this final to me, because this step would the already outrageous elements spinoff in terms of "overexcited stupidly "almost beat again.

For me it is clear: Resident Evil is not just what it true and is probably no longer so well, even if a number of new spin-offs still dive into the old days of the series. To find out how the story goes was roughly for me the only incentive to buy the game and after the credits I am pleased to know that I now confidently can to bury this series. Action and shooter fans will have in the new Resident Evil unquestionably fun, but I can not for my part so completely. The game is therefore not to be regarded as bad, but the horror and the dark Athmo that which is broken by wind or thunder solely by silence, missing since part 4 and thus not entirely unimportant element of the series. Who thinks well but should at least consider at least once borrow the game, even if it is just to see what one of the consoles is currently possible.
