Disgust and fascination

We use for years a Seaco aroma Siebträgermaschine (with such a kind of pressure Crema membrane filter holder). The first filter holder was already after 3 years to complete and produced no crema. Then we bought for about 40 a new filter holder who is also today still works. I had flushed stehts still 2 empty cups with water after preparation of a coffee and was always very happy with it all to take good care of the light brown discolored water in the faith for obtaining the machine.

Because as I said the portafilter by various compression springs, rubber seals, plastic caps and tiny holes to generate pressure no way reveal the inner workings to watch and an opening of the filter holder would have been an hour-long Fumnmelarbeit (then tried and failed with the first filter holder) I thought the all once to chemically dissolve.

Most cleaners are however designed for fully automatic espresso coffee machines or with blind filter. I have the Puly Caff however as normal espresso powder onto the screen poured (Espresso serving) and let the water run through briefly, that below the first beam is visible, then stopping the machine immediately and the two holes in the filter holder with thick rubber gloves locked (watch that you do not burn their fingers) to the stuff yet to leave for 30-40 seconds.

What was, however, meet me after a few seconds disgusting but fascinating. This was not simply more light brownish discolored water, but an oily, greasy mass with the consistency of viscous grease. Garnished with thick black flakes of burnt and rock-hard coffee fat. I then again rinsed it off with water and poured in the sink. Absolutely disgusting. A plethora of dirt had only now gelößt the portafilter.

I repeated the whole procedure with renewed filling Puly Caff in the filter holder and after the fourth passage only came back something like clear water flowed through the openings. Also here and there with small, angelößten coffee fat chunks. I have everything again rinsed thoroughly under the tap, alone to the rubber gasket unnecessarily long exposure to the me completely unknown drug.

Perfect. If you look into the otherwise dirt-smeared metal openings portafilters seen there again shiny chrome. The cleaner is not the way to smell. If you chase the powder through the filter holder, it foams even just a little, you produce at least starting from the cleaner, no mess.

For me an absolute top product that keeps almost forever in 900g can. I lead now a weekly cleaning by a such a mess not to relive. The price is also not comparable in comparison to the purification tablets.
