This book has been written there about fifty years, his style is thereby enriched and expanded more dialogues than can currently read in this kind of literature. His reading is pleasant and a bit old fashioned charm an asset. However, I find that there are some inconsistencies in the construction of the sentimental plot. So love between the two protagonists presented in summary appears ad nihilo: we are shown their meetings and dialogues and wham! Without that nothing leads (not least on the internal description of a felt and the other for example), now one of them is said love in his heart and realizes that c is reciprocal. This is not credible and shame. Moreover, in my opinion, the summary on the back of the book forgets to mention enough the third heroine of the book, namely the mother of twins. The book made him the spotlight. I put three stars because of the richness of the dialogue and knowledge of the time that seems to have Georgette Heyer. Otherwise, I would put only one star if I had had to judge the story.
