History of Philosophy (Paperback)

Customer Review

First of all, I am a student of philosophy in the Netherlands and I am trying to learn French for my studies (so forgive me for my grammar!).

I bought 'The history of philosophy "because my teacher he recommended me, because this is the best history of philosophy รก his opinion. Having read some of this book, I quite agree.

It is always difficult to write any story, but it will be even more difficult if it will be read by philosophers, who no doubt will question the possibility of such a story, its usefulness, the boundaries of what BREHIER means 'philosophy', and ranking it uses to classify the historical facts and philosophical.

But being a brilliant philosopher himself, and not just a historian, it answers all these things clearly in the introduction, making explicit the intentions and scope of the work, as well as its postulates; which is good, for a story of such a large field that philosophy will require a certain order "at least temporarily" (as BREHIER himself says), and if his opinion known on these issues, we know what it is that one bed

A detailed analysis of all the major philosophers and philosophical movements and themes of the Presocratics to modernity, both historically and philosophically, that are very clear and informative, following the introduction .. I would recommend this book anyone interested in philosophy.

Ps. If you study this language as me, I would recommend this book to practice your French, for it is written very clearly and not too difficult.
