There is some (myself included) for whom a new album of AC / DC is a global event. Some thought the finished, out of inspiration, softened, and I pass by and best. Eight years after "Stiff Upper Lip" bluesy album par excellence, here they are, with this album I had the privilege of listening to a preview. In two words: THE SLAP! Soon 55 years, the Young brothers have composed an album that will remain engraved in the marble of the Hall of Fame Rock. A massive album, heavy, true homage to rock (word quoted in no less than 4 titles), and almost a reminder of their tremendous career. The first title, Rock n Roll Train will not surprise the regulars, and develops a rock "ACDĂ©Cien" effective. You will be surprised in the second title "Skies on Fire" to find riffs and rhythms of the Bon Scott era. Big Jack, third title developed a heavy rhythm and percussion to perfection, but the refrain waste in my opinion the unity of the song. A report 4th song "Anything Goes" left me perplexed, because it usually comes out of the paths explored, approaching rather Queen 90s or even Rod Stewart (horror) ... But we can not blame the ACDC sacred monsters like trying to rub new styles; especially as the solo our Angus made us quickly forget this first impression. The rest of the album is particularly impressive with titles "powerful" as the "War Machine", "Smash 'N' Grab," "Spoilin 'for a Fight", "Wheels", "Decibel" where Hard lines Rock blend with blues and the purest rock. The last five songs are in my opinion the most successful: "Stormy May Day" and its intro Blues (we have not finished trying to copy the guitar), "She Likes Rock 'N' Roll "which closely resembles some titles Bon Scott years," Money Made ", and rhythm that sticks to the chair," Rock 'N' Roll Dream "which almost makes us believe that AC / DC also made rock ballads of "Rocking All the Way" that rocks as we like and finally "Black Ice" which masterfully closing the eponymous album. In general we note: The restoration before clear voice of Brian Johnson, and that's good, because he sings better than ever; the impressive presence of Cliff Williams we have never heard so much (great unknown bassist who plays with a pick), the perfect harmony of the rhythm section with Phill Rudd more precise, the Bear and elliptical than ever and always as sharp Malcom. Angus is a little more discreet, his solos are less emphasized, that strengthening the hyper bluesy atmosphere of the album. In short, after 8 years of absence, AC / DC if necessary proves he is still the greatest current rock band (rock yes), and is still capable of delivering a 15 tracks album (still) most of which are of very high quality. I was amazed for me from the beginning to the end of listening, I think it will be a classic rock very soon, and one disk milestones of this wonderful group. Would recommend without question.
