Delivery:
Obviously, the packaging strategy for hard disks because some reviews has been changed on Amazon. I was terrified, I was holding in his hands for a package!
The ordered disks were delivered in separate shipments. The cartons were both about the size of a crate ... In this case there was a lump wrapped bubble wrap, I painstakingly unravels with knives and scissors. This, in turn, I found an Amazon shipping carton, as we know from simple Bücker broadcasts ago. And in this situation, the cardboard disk, delicately wrapped ... from bubble wrap!
Well, so packed no one needs to ensure that any damage caused by transportation.
Commissioning:
NAS server on, hard drives clean, Software Wizard starts, RAID set, about 10 hours (maybe 5 or 15, I'm not sure) serviced and - run!
Application:
The plates are now running for 6 weeks and without abnormalities. I had previously built two 1GByte plates of the Caviar Green series in the NAS server, they were considerably louder. The NAS server is in the closet on a scrap piece of a camping mat and is barely audible. No Geklacker, also starting noise is barely perceptible. With regard to the noise I feel the plates as successful. Furthermore, the panels remain very cool, yet never warmer than 35 degrees.
Conclusion:
Highly recommended for home use. Smooth and cool.
Experience after 10 months:
The plates are now running almost continuously since the purchase in December 2012. There were no error messages, crashes or anything else. Furthermore, 5 stars.
