On Idealism becomes clear why Digitalism will gladly compare with their French counterparts: the album has large loans to Daft Punk or, stylistically, even the Gorillaz. Especially on tracks like 'Magnet' or 'home zone' shows that an attempt was made to generate a similar radio rhythm like Daft Punk, this is done, however, without the necessary intensity for. In general, it would have been worth more for Digitalism, they would have produced more tracks like 'Pogo' - because the sounds of Idealism, as it is, are the ghosts. Electric purists it is might like, but in my opinion it lacks the songs always on something, be it intensity, bass, speed, harmony, diversity or originality.
I do not think it was Digitalism intention to copy Daft Punk or similar groups, but that's what happened here. As the songs on idealism but can in no way compete with the works of well-known models, I can put the album at best tolerant electro-pop fans to the heart. For radio, it is simply to electronically, built for Pop in turn to funk. Three stars for Digitalism debut.
