The shell still serves its purpose, however, is totally unappealing. The artificial leather is torn at all movable points and dropped. The underlying white mesh holds the shell together yet. It still is fun to read the Kindle reader, but as with a good book, the cover is a part of the reading experience. This cover has no beautiful patina but just seems cheap. For me it was a bad buy. Unfortunately there is no TPU Case at Amazon for the current Paperwhite reader. Too bad.
