The exchange was - as always with Amazon - without any problems, the replacement unit was there in record time.
First impressions: The design of the player's response. The remote control, however, looks cheap and is due to the small buttons hard to use. Positives: connection and configuration were done quickly and no problem. WLAN was immediately recognized.
The insertion of the first DVD, however, was difficult. The touch-sensitive buttons on the top panel are almost inoperable. Slight pressure on Eject means that the load off and immediately enters again. Were they finally opened and inserted a disc, they can not close again on the sensor button, since this obviously presses the button twice as is recognized and so the charge also extends right back. Close by applying slight pressure to the charge or the remote control is working.
Thereafter, however, was once nothing more - until we came up with the idea to replace the batteries included with the remote control with new ones. Sorry, Philips, something must not happen. Have not you any more quality control?
After battery replacement test then was finally able to continue. The drive is pleasantly quiet, and load times also appear to be relatively short. Both DVDs and Blu-rays play without a problem. Even stream videos over Wi-Fi works well.
Negative but fell to the player's firmware. Pressing the off button on the remote control while playing a DVD meant that the unit on the display while Standbye indicated, but just keep playing and no commands responded more - neither on the remote control or the touch panel keys. Here only helped the unplugging - what then but that caused after restarting the network configuration was also forgotten.
Conclusion: Nice player with a quiet drive and a lot of features, but also some weaknesses. In particular, the barely outgrown from the beta firmware and the apparent lack of quality control on the part of Philips were very annoyed. That is why only two stars.
