Suites for Keyboard (Handel) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

After a wonderful evening in a television dance, choreographed by Mauro Bigonzetti, I became aware of the composed by Handel for harpsichord suites. Keith Jarrett has recorded this on the keyboard.

It is unusual plants, of which one rarely heard before. The elitist statement of TW Adorno '' ... on the healthy foods of Handel's provocative ... ". ' punishes the performance of this rarely performed pieces of music lie.

In the sometimes strictly contrapuntal applied sections, which then come along again in a relaxed ease, one recognizes the master of baroque, of, at least in these piano works, does not have behind the Grand Master of the same time, JS Bach, stand back. While Handel's more emerged through his operas and oratorios or the large orchestral works, his composed for harpsichord works to a wide audience are not yet available.

It is worth recording, because it is charming with its diversity, its dance sometimes but stern expression. Compared to Bach's Piano Work Händel wrote a few compositions of this genre.

Keith Jarrett appears to be the correct interpreter of these tunes. He maintains the rigor and ease in the right proportion to each other. Precise and playful, he uses his skills and find the right expression for each variation range in Art Suite.

In an afterword, you can read how Keith Jarrett came to bring them onto the stage.
Highly recommended for lovers of Baroque music!
