El Pintor - an anagram of Interpol ...

PDA, Slow Hands, The Scale, Memory Serves ... every album of this genius band around Paul Banks, the Lick-flinging Kessler and congenial, but unfortunately former bassist "D" surprised with a special pearl!
A few weeks ago I was able to admire the now getting on in years guys in Luxembourg on the Rock-A-Field Festival from the front row. First of all, the concert was ok, but also not a milestone - sorry, the live bassist for me is simply an impertinence!
The question that now presents itself to me is the following: this disc joined to the previous Interpol albums in my CD changer just permanently? I doubt! How is this possible without "D" anyway? Was it for me, or I get a little respite before the roof collapses Interpol finally under the delicate, fragile voice of Paul?

Similar to my last review for the last masterpiece of Queens of the Stone Age I write this review in parallel with the first hearing. Like almost every Interpol it takes a bit of time to get a listen to an album of me so highly valued band, and really reflect all facets and effects.

This song is probably inveterate Joy Division- and devoted particular The Smiths fans. Very refined, mathematically, and nothing for Interpol untrained ears. From Mix ago super sound - no Geschnörkel. Here the confusion does not arise through countless parallel tracks but by unusual harmonic changes that surprise you. Hats off, guys! That you would create something without Carlos "D", I have not thought possible - he was so far who by 2010 gave the compositions a brilliant touch. A great title, in which you lose quickly, and that is what one wants as Interpol fan, right?

Same Town, New Story:
Geez! Here I myself am as Interpol admirers out there ... this Kessler-Lick I had better times refused to Pauls place. I want to on the details of the song did not say anything! It's really a very stupid song!

My Blue Spreme:
Finally something new !!! Paul finally an octave higher, and that sounds really cool. Fine Breaks, and very soulful. The perfect song to chill out one evening on the warm bed with a delicious glass of wine / cuddle! Super Mix and cool lyrics!

Everything is Wrong:
This song is anything but "Wrong", but the hit of the album! At first a little reminiscent of The Edge's "City of Lights Blinging", the audience will be treated to the best of Interpol material truely! ;-)
And, for me as a bass player, just as a bass should sound - very nice warm, This is a crunch sound tube - I like!

Breaker 1:
Uff, the song is just too high for me! I do not understand him, and I do not want him to understand, because I like him. In addition to the "Same Town" -Murks also a durable Skip title. Too bad that was working on such an idea!

'm Just glad that the guys go on in spite of the departure of "D", although the live show significant signs of wear were observed. Me it would not be surprised if it was forever!
