I ordered the Canon IXUS 500 HS digital camera some time ago, and would like to share my experience with you:

I find the IXUS 500 HS in their black metal housing visually very elegant. The processing of this camera is very high. The size should be roughly comparable with a pack of cigarettes, which they of course always find quickly in your pocket or even the smallest handbag Place. The IXUS fits comfortably in your hand and is very light. On the back of the camera is a relatively large screen, which can be very small, the keys and she pressed a little to the right edge. For me this is not a problem but for big men hands these buttons could be a bit difficult to use.

Battery:

The battery can be charged in the charger supplied outside of the camera, which is advantageous if you have more than one battery. After about 2-3 hours the battery is charged and this is indicated by an optical signal (green light) appears. Battery and memory card can now be used, and off you go. With Videos unfortunately the battery lasts only about 35 minutes. So for video fans I recommend a second battery.

Once the camera is turned on, the unit displays the date and time will appear. Then set and confirm the local time zone. Language can also be easily adjusted via a selection mode.

Due to the large screen you can very well choose a picture and also view images shot later. The images have a brilliant rich colors. A delay of the individual images is not exactly available. Not good shot can be deleted easily via a menu item again. As is now common in digital cameras, the IXUS 500 features various image control such. As Blur, Soft Skin, Fish-eye Effect, 'sepia and more. About the USB port and the provided cable, the camera can be connected directly to the PC. The flash has been activated and turns if necessary automatically. It is very easy to use and you must go to the manual to help only with special functions.

The camera records in both Full HD '1080p so' as well as in HD '720p' on. There is a slow motion function in which the camera shoots images 120-240 per second to rotate around a slow-motion video. Although the videos do not have the recording quality of a camcorder, however, are for the 'household' absolutely fine and a very beautiful thing. Unfortunately, the battery in the video mode does not last very long but as mentioned it's a camera, not a camcorder. Perhaps we should also put one directly or to use several spare batteries with order everything without restriction.
