Enrichment for my CD collection!

Whole 5 years, Green Day have after their hit album "American Idiot" time left to now lie a powerful and ambitious work. Your new mega cracker "21st Century Breakdown" manages not only to achieve its predecessor but also to top it off!

Be content, as already in American Idiot political and social developments of our time up and incorporated that run like a thread through the songs.

Although stylistically the punk rock still dominates, the album is very varied and far more complex than its predecessors. With elements of punk, rock, pop and some prog is synonymous experimented and tried out more, especially the use of piano, strings, etc. gives the impression of a "small" rock opera.

It is very difficult to highlight individual pieces.
Starting with the title track, about the punky "Knowing the Enemy", the catchy-rousing "Viva la Gloria", the balladesquen, partly to Beatles songs reminiscent "Before the Lobothomie" and "Last Night on Earth", the rock-punk "Christian's Inferno" and "East Jesus Nowhere", etc., etc.. There is hardly a song that I do not like.
I particularly like the very melodic and almost Green-Day-atypical "Peacemaker" and "Restless Heart Syndrome" - but, as I said, there is no title I would describe as not worth listening to.
