I Fang times with the action. This might well have to be interesting. A new tropical island near Banoi (the venue of the first part). Everywhere zombies and then the scenes, where our main character, I'll call it has delusions. Just what is a shame in the matter: everything was so unspectacular staged that I have partially skipped the cutscenes bored. These consist only of drawn pictures, but they are strung together so disjointed that it seems ridiculous in some places. Here one has ever given away huge potential. The game could have points by a super action among all zombie games. But is useless if it was staged with a tension, like cutting bread into slices.
The gameplay is fun basically. One can choose to sneak around the zombies around or to storm to get rid of them and kill them. What is the better choice? Could not care less because neither is working properly. Once I wanted to sneak, but had a weapon to destroy a barricade to progress. Stupid that a case notice the zombies. That it had escaped unnoticed with. Otherwise, the zombies have an exclamation mark over their head that fills slowly. Is it fully, you have noticed a. The great thing: even if one is in front of you, only slowly this ad fills. In addition, the zombies can easily Austricksen ridiculous. I was followed by a, fled through a hole in a rock face and the zombie stayed at this stand. Then I went back and tried the zombie continues to come through the rock. Just as a small example of such a situation.
But fighting is worse and for a reason: the game is damn unfair. Man dies partially with about 3 hits. Only the game takes no account of it. That depends on many virtual deaths. And that caused a lot of frustration with me. It is the last memory reset point at which the game character slowly regains consciousness, and gets up. This scene is also far too long.
Now just about the technology. As you can see not hard, the game has a comic graphics. Nevertheless, the game just is not pretty. Rein graphically I would imagine that it could run with a few smears on an old console like the Wii or PS2. The prettiest was perhaps when I've seen sometimes high in the sun. But even that looked into, for example Dead Space from 2008 better. 6 or 7 years ago, the game might have looked still nice. Now simply outdated. Muddy textures, a few details and no noteworthy effects. Add to this a gruesome English speech. A German Synchro there are not only subtitles.
To provide a better overview, here is a detailed list of the pros and cons:
Per
- After repeated die the game ammunition are on spawn
- Known Dead Iceland character emerges
- Soundtrack can be heard
- Cute, comic-like splatter
- Action in the approach interesting *
- Tropical holiday island still creates a great atmosphere **
Contra
- Just fucking unfair and therefore very, very many extremely frustrating virtual death (biggest gripe at all)
* Set but totally boring and unspectacular in scene -
- ** But not nearly as great as in its predecessors
- Only one level of difficulty
- Fiddly operation, especially when switching weapons
- Absolutely ridiculous bad voice actor
- Cutscenes usually consist of still images that are related mies
- Zombies notice a after a time, although one is right in front of them
- Zombies are easily fooled
- After the death follows an unnecessarily long sequence in which we see as the games character comfortably and slowly gets up
- Blocked up after the Crouch for long after the obstacle
- Zombies do in combat often a leap forward: Dodge almost always useless, they meet a yet (even if one evades far to the side)
- Zombies often appear out of nowhere (of searched area from which they came previously searched and was empty)
- The character makes only 3 slow strokes at a time, this will be then taken lightly
- Once I'm just like that, for no apparent reason, just dropped dead
- Hallucinations seem out of place and put
- To execute lying on the ground Zombies unnecessary, normal attack is faster
- Super zombies are just plain annoying
- Occasional spells of the main character killing the opponent seem ridiculous
- Graphics hopelessly outdated: muddy textures, little details, hardly any significant effects, lighting effects in 2008 were in some games already beautiful
- Gameworld small and fairly linear (not even a quarter of the first Dead Islands)
- Time is not just long (which you now but could also be seen as selling point)
Conclusion:
Escape Dead Iceland could be a small surprise hit. Basically, everything is nice. Only a dull story presented, stupid zombies, a lot of frustrating points, outdated graphics and bad Synchro screw up the whole game. And I really want to like the game. But just as Zombie and Iceland Dead fan. So I wanted to give 3 stars, simply push back as a fan both eyes. But 2 stars are then but a more honest assessment. If you're a fan of the two things, you can play for a small price but sometimes give a chance.
