In retrospect, it annoys me that I am to point out that the group Kent makes excellent music, not more followed, so they missed me too long. Your frontman and mastermind Jocke Berg was actually crossed my already as co-author and producer of the best albums of Lisa Miskovsky on the road. That Kent outside Scandinavia still "... nobody knows" are, is fairly unintelligible and annoying for many außerskandinavische fans, means the other hand also, that still can look forward with us on many listeners, to this exceptional band and their music for themselves discover. Said music is not intended for quick consumption and re-forgetting, but the listener can accompany many years, are the soundtrack of life, what it has to probably actually managed to chart positions for many listeners in Sweden. Somewhere between rock and pop, between guitar and synthesizer, between cold sound and revel in wonderful melodies provides the Kent Music countless facets. This box set contains 10 CDs everything the band has officially released until 2008, and a (Swedish) accompanying booklet. Like other groups that have played together for many years, even Kent has been through one or another style change, the strongest among the albums 6/7 and 2/3. The Friends "classical" Guitar Rocks are mainly on the first two albums "Kent" and "verkligen" at their expense. It follows the highly Radiohead-inspired "Isola", with significantly more sophisticated production and the first musical feat "747", the many more should follow. On the albums 4 and 5 "Hagnesta Hill" and "Vapen & Ammunition", the group has more experimented, tried styles, directions in which the journey could go musically, the sound is already clearly more poppy, but also more complex and sophisticated than the first works. With Album 6 "Du & jag döden" possibly followed by the first real masterpiece of the group, I would uncut record in a "best of" collection, wonderful, melancholy, melodic, mostly guitar-oriented music from the tender ballad to powerful rock number and perhaps their best song ever, "Mannen i had the vita". The "Hjärta & smärta EP" sounds like an addition to this album and has just musically fully convinced me. On finally elektroniklastigsten the latest album in this box, "Tillbaka till Samtiden". As a true musical grab bag, the B-side collection, which shows that B-sides mean no B-quality at a band like Kent proves. It is exciting to see how to evolve the capabilities of Jocke Berg and his colleagues in compositional terms and in the arrangements from album to album, as the band despite (or thanks to) many influences from U2 Depeche Mode to Coldplay and Keane to unmistakable style is like musical ideas and initial indications of future genius already flare at first albums and three, four albums later taken up again and be led to bloom. And best of all, the band's history does not end with yes "Tillbaka" and this box, but is updated to the present day and is ideal for further discoveries. To discover are last but not least Jocke Berg's lyrics, which are described by native speakers as high outstanding, but also challenging. This edition is completely in Swedish, only the albums 3 and 4 is also available in an English version, you may have to buy separately. Translations can be found in the forum on the website of the group. The CDs of the box, as opposed to the original albums filled until collar with bonus tracks, so this whole issue comes to 133 tracks and a running time of approximately 10 hours.
