I do this USB capture card for a few days but I am very satisfied. For a small fee a product is obtained certainly better bill than the "no name" almost the same price and which are numerous on Amazon. The finish is good, drivers and software on the CD function without crashing on Windows 7 32-bit, I have not even downloaded the latest drivers on the website but I probably should have precaution. Now it works, so I know that experience does not change a driver that works! the supplied software (Video Easy), created by Magix not the first came to this area allows to easily capture video, do a little editing (transitions, etc, classical) and post it on DVD, internet (youtube, etc.), just save it on computer, + some other memory options (eg online space "Magix" not tried). Note the button on the box, which allows you to start and stop capturing very simply, without grasping the mouse. But it must still have launched the software before, I would have appreciated a shame you can start recording at any time from Windows. Note that it is not required to go through the installation and especially the conversion (very long) performed by the Magix software, simply go in Magix folder to find his recordings "gross stripping" (in .mpg), nothing more or less compressed after installation (about 2GB per hour max quality). After tests I only captures the maximum quality, which remains the SD anyway, with little compression artifacts, unlike lower grades which are only valid for publishing a small file on the web. Finally, for those of Black and White difficulties in particular, it must be said that grabby does not come with a booklet detailing the connections. We need to know that to have a correct image an S-video cable (not supplied) is preferable BUT SVHS VCR (with a suitable plug) are not necessarily common. So if you just have a Scart output, it certainly is configured by default to RGB / RGB, and you have to dig through the menus of your source (terminal ceiling, camcorder, VCR) to ensure that it can emit a signal S -VHS by the SCART. This is the case of the old Canalsat terminals (on the VCR socket) for example, but not basic I think VCRs or camcorders like the old Hi8 or VHS-C. See anyway. Assuming that this setting is not available, you will be forced to use the composite (yellow) cable provided, and the quality will be lower but still acceptable to archive your VHS. And I take the different advice given on this site or others, if your connections are good and the image is B & W change the setting to PAL SECAM (PAL B for example) or vice versa in the "Video Standard" menu that appears when recording with Video Easy software. Hoping to have been useful to all those still struggling a bit with this excellent value for money ... when we get to plug it in!
