I have this unit for two years, with a 22 mm lens (which ultimately serves little me) and the standard 18-55 mm. Overall I am very satisfied with this Canon (taken to replace a 550D), especially for its compactness, easy to carry, even when hiking. Because of this, I finally used a lot more than my previous SLR. However, we must learn to deal with his slow, as has already been reported, both in the forums on other reviews here. Nevertheless, with a little patience, you can get to do interesting things, including macro. So I post this notice to those questions like it. For my part I use the basic objective of 18-55 mm, which I add a small windscreen macro that attaches to the end (model Gloxy, fifty euros, but Canon also proposes that should be much higher) . I choose burst mode, and rises slightly (ISO 800 to 1000) to compensate for lack of light problems associated with the macro. The result is interesting, even if this does not apply, of course, render an objective dedicated to the macro. Herewith, a photo example (slightly compressed, but gives an idea).
