The cables are:
- Red: Power
- Black: GND
- White: RX for USB
- Green: TX from USB
The red wire transfers and 5V 500mA from the USB port and the RX / TX connectors run on 3.3 V (suitable for widespread 3.3V boards).
On Raspi (Model B) closing the cable as follows:
At the GPIO pins that are on the outside of the Raspberry Pi started (upper left corner, outside, between SD card and RCA / RCA video jack), from left to right.
1. Pin: red - 2. Pin: empty - 3. Pin: black - 4. Pin: white - 5. Pin: green
Important: If your Pi is already fed by a power supply, you should leave unconnected the red connector of this cable.
After you have installed the PL2303HX.A drivers in OS X, you can connect to 115200 baud with the Pi by
"Screen /dev/cu.PL2303- 115200" typing (for "screen /dev/cu.PL2303" pushes your to select the right device, eg "screen /dev/cu.PL2303-00001234 115200").
Have fun!
This product is unsuitable for Arduino (Menta, Boarduino, etc.), because the DTS / RTS connection is missing here. For this purpose a FTDI cable is required.
