Very good book, a must before going hiking in Corsica. This book does not merely identify plants or animals but tells exciting stories about their uses or their origins. Some weaknesses, however. - The identification of plants from the book is difficult because the pictures are not numerous enough and often a whole family is gathered under one page. - The emphasis is not placed on the particularity of the Corsica flora linked to the soil, usually acid. Thus certain plant only found on land acid (silica, sandstone, sand, granite, slate ...) such as cork oak, arbutus, the chestnut trees, rockrose .... All these plants are not These few exceptions, in Provence limestone. - Some specific plants to Corsica are not detailed enough as Cistus of Montpellier that covers much of the Corsican maquis
The fact remains that this interesting book reads with great pleasure.
