Exalith - suddenly I'm a fan

I had no idea what material is the coating of my Cosmic Carbon SLR Aero wheels. The braking system with me is the SRAM Red. Annoying was initially the squeal at each stop, which quickly went fortunately in a twang like full carbon rims. In the flat land you can see the limits of the brakes hardly know although I am very difficult for a racing cyclist. I noticed is that wet performance is not as good as in dry conditions, but it is still quite passable.

The braking performance of these coatings with mechanical SRAM Red brake system for the first time I could really learn at a crossing of the Alps two weeks ago: She's perfect in dry conditions. Unbelievable how good and strong, the braking action is. Even longer downhill stretches with speeds around 80 km / h can be braked down very well with a Serpentine. The wheels are very hot but not so hot that the hoses have problems. Each time could let me stay over the handlebars too hard braking, so much reserve is in the brake combination.

Although it provides the much higher proportion of braking power with the front brake, with me, the wear of the pads by departures is interestingly back up: This is not so in the wind standing rear is at departures significantly hotter than the front wheel. This obviously costs "rubber". Nevertheless, I had neither during nor after crossing the Alps, change the pads. The precaution carried tour pair Exalith pads is now in the spare parts box.
