Purchased in replacing an old mandolin (yet to make) that eventually no longer cut by blade dulling impossible réaiguiser. Note that I only use it to chop onions. I turned to the Kyocera mandoline one hand the presence of a ceramic guarantee improved durability blade (we'll see) and for the brand's reputation in this field. For now it has done its job. The slices obtained are finer than my old. The cutting height is not adjustable. The push is imperative to use because the blade is very sharp.
