Now to the work: The 7S36 is proven for decades and is for many years without maintenance. It was probably designed for little industrialized regions, where there is not a watchmaker at every turn, which could repair the thing. The movement is so for as long as possible to run constructed without repair / maintenance. I once had an older 7S36 with whom I could do really everything I wanted: chopping wood, hammers, constantly bumping, falling, vibration, etc. and it runs until today reliably. Accordingly, it has a relatively simple to offer any possible vulnerabilities, which "functions" is reflected in the Spartan. The robustness of the movement to be purchased with the following characteristics:
-The Second does not stop - at least not that intended by the manufacturer but there is a trick: See below
-No Handwinding
Movement of the second hand seems a bit rough
Accuracy is the factory state rather bad (about + - 30-40 seconds) - but can regulate
My ran in front of about 35 seconds per day. Thereupon, I have delivered them to the watchmaker who has watched them and regulated across one week. Has cost all around 5 euro and now I have a deviation of about 3-4 seconds a day. An automatic you have to "get to know" because the wearing habits weigh heavily on the accuracy. I always put my clock now in the evening at about the same time from and make them again in the morning to. At night, the inaccuracy compensates again from (lack of body temperature, no movement, position the clock), where they run a little faster and then in the morning has a small lead to real time, which then picks up again during the day when wearing. So I have a close for weeks to correct time, which differs by only a few seconds (max. 10). That does not even create my quartz watches (Seiko) running continuously too fast or too slowly, further and further away from the real time.
Moreover, it is in times where soon has every skillet over a radio clock, hardly necessary to wear a high-precision watch. Basically, it's a gem with an interesting technical function. It's just this "automatic Feeling 'that provides the charm of this clock. Quartz watches work against very lifeless. Listen to the clock does (unfortunately) only with applied ear.
Last but not least: When it comes time to make the clock and the exact second you can use two methods: Allow the clock until they are stops and throws them by vibrating at the right moment to (but rarely works) or turning the crown very slightly (in the position to adjust the pointer) counterclockwise (or pointer). With some emotion you can then keep up with the rotation of the crown against the movement and stop the second hand or even run backwards. When the pointer is then correct, you can continue to run by turning in the correct direction the pointer. So it is possible to set the clock precisely on the second. In the lover circles is called the Backward hacking. According to my watchmakers and some opinions in relevant forums of this little trick is not harmful to the clock. Many Rolex owners employ this little tricks. It works only when the clock is hardly raised, since otherwise the friction of the pointer no longer aussreicht to stop the movement. If the clock is running properly then you should raise it a few minutes in a circular motion, since only a fully wound-value provides the best accuracy.
Conclusion: Very much clock for less money. There are really no desires (except for the manual winding) remained open.
