No matter - the rest is also very excellent and should whet your appetite for more Strawbs - So ultimately the end justifies the means - perhaps can indeed sell in this way even more original albums. Value are the discs all
Track listing
Strawbs:
Where Is This Dream Of Your Youth? (Cousins)
Oh How She Changed (Cousins / Hooper)
Folk (Skirt) from the early days. I would have chosen other songs, but representative of the album.
From the Witchwood
Witchwood (Cousins)
A beautiful song that represents just over half of Witchwood - but there are alternatives, such as The Hangman and the Papist (one of the cousins - ballads) and Sheep, where Rick Wakeman "can tuck" right times
Grave New World
Benedictus (Cousins)
Heavy Disguise (Ford)
New World (Cousins)
Queen Of Dreams (Cousins)
Reräsentiert the "prog rock" side of Grave New World - good choice
Bursting at the Seams
Lay Down (Cousins)
The Winter And The Summer (Lambert)
The River (Cousins)
Down By The Sea (Cousins)
Part Of The Union (Ford / Hudson)
The Auswahlt shows beautiful as could be "multi-colored" the Strawbs: Part of the Union as a "protest (sarcasm ??) - song, Lay down as Rocker, The Winter and the Summer as a love song with a hard core, The River / Down by the Sea (go together) as a prog-rockers.
Hero And Heroine
Shine On Silver Sun (Cousins)
Round And Round (Cousins)
Hero And Heroine (Cousins)
For me the best Strawbs disc, reasonably well represented, there is no definitely "Autumn" - but you should have completely definitely ;-)
Ghosts
Grace Darling (Cousins)
Ghosts (Cousins)
Comes right after Hero and Heroine, insufficiently represented in any case ..
Nomad Ness
The Golden Salamander (Cousins)
A Mind Of My Own (Coombes)
Something puzzling choice, another of the cousins ballads, although I would have preferred in the Gallery Hanging.
There are missing songs from the albums "Dragonfly" and "Just a Collection of Antiques and Curious"
Personally, I would rather "Halcyon Days" buy a sampler, in addition to many of the songs represented here also some classics and rarities, as well as the actual Part of the Union 'successor-hit "Burn Baby Burn and pick up the pieces (both under Hudson / Ford published, are represented.
