This is my third novel by Michel Houellebecq (MH). The narration is very realistic: MH does not pass pages describe landscapes ... We are truly immersed in the thoughts and feelings of a person. The monologues of the narrator are very lively and funny. Compared to the main theme, I see more black humor and self-deprecation (the narrator an egghead bicole lot quadra and instead wants young women) but also a praise of our democratic societies have faults but undeniable qualities !
In conclusion: this novel (not a try as some would believe) reads very well. Black Humor: yes! A few politically incorrect sentences: certainly. A pamphlet clearly no!
