S. King excels! While it is true that the novel is long enough, the plot takes a long time to settle, this renders this first volume that best. At first I had a little trouble finding my way with all these characters that seem to be alternately primary and secondary, but on arriving at the last page, I had the strange impression of actually being lived under the dome, being myself an inhabitant of this isolated vilage, to know each character as a longtime neighbor and share with him every emotion felt by the protagonists like I was living with them this surreal situation which is n 'will not be the last word before the second volume. The strong and incomparable point of the novel: its realism! Everything is palpable, consisting almost multisensory. More accurate than film or a photograph, images are living there, concrete, and leaves an impression of real memories more than false memories. If it was not so expensive, I would buy immediately Volume 2.
