I will not hide anything by telling you that this first volume of a trilogy is a wonderful stroke of heart and barely having finished, I simply want and need to read it again to return to the characters that are this book a wonderful romance.
Even as the cover and the summary foreshadowed me yet another new adult romance where sex would not necessarily be present in subtle ways, I was dazzled by the narration of the author.
CS Stephens skillfully lead his romance and love triangle. We are far from that famous triangle where everything is too easy, seen and frankly annoying.
Here, although the start was a bit long because you have to put everything in place and that we know in advance that everything will play Kiera, Denny (her boyfriend) and Kellan (best Friend of the latter), each chapter offers its share of surprises, excitement and wonder or doubt.
Kiera's character could be any student in love with her boyfriend, wanting to follow it in another city because he found a job. Of course, that says little money, also called colocation. And there, things revved gradually.
This young adult of 21 years was so touched because she felt, what anguished and desires. But she also angry because at one time or another, we must make a choice. I thought even having to yell at him or slap him to hand him down to earth. Why so much trouble? Yet living as she chooses to do so?
Yet I understood it and at no time I was able to judge and this is the first time in this kind of novel, this has happened.
Beside her, we'll find Denny and although I enjoyed this character who does not suspect anything, which is a real lovesick, anything to his beloved, I also said that we did not see the enough. Rather, it is cleared and I found it a shame. On the other hand, if his presence was more pronounced, things might have turned out differently.
The third, but not least, dear Kellan. Aaaaahhh !!! Kellan .... This boy I immediately liked despite his super sexy side, who defeated the girls who swoon before him. Singer of a rock band, he capsized hearts and I must admit that he has conquered me (but in any good any honor, of course). It is so touching behind her ways that speak volumes.
Oh lala, I tell you, the romance between Kiera and Kellan is really to discover. I ended this Sunday book and I still can not get out. I also struggled to string together a new reading so I think of all I've discovered in the characters, this couple so heartrending, those songs that you bristle hair.
Mama mia, what book! A masterful slap to the reader that I am.
I still can not be brought down by such a book because I was expecting so much else in this genre there. I still really shaken, bewildered and emotions are so strong when we discover what happens there.
How to say you have to read it to understand me? How do you explain that Kiera, Kellan and Denny is totally different from everything I've read with love triangles?
The style of the author makes it much because it is simple, fluid and reading this book is like getting into a TV movie that kind of sellotape to your sofa. Everything is so beautiful as in the emotions that are described in the love scenes that are in no way vulgar or brutal. Everything is done in the finesse and subtlety and more we progress, the more we realize things really matters.
I feel that even if I talked for hours and hours, I'll never tell you what I experienced during these 550 pages. One thing is certain, is that contrary to what I had thought until then, some songs are really to discover. They put your nerves flat, in tears, the heart racing.
In short, is a first volume Undecided excellent and I loved discovering. It only took me 4 days to get around and every time I took was with wanted to find Kiera and Kellan. Living with them their history. It's beautiful, it's touching and it is far from sentimentality other songs of the genre.
Basically, I heartily suggest that you are addicted to new adult or not. Do like me and go through the course of discovery. You should not be disappointed.
