Still blown away by the talent once Samantha Bailly! This universe is that it has created full, complex, both political, and cultural or folkloric, medical. There is a real coherence in profusion. It follows Sonax, his adolescence to his mature, turn round theater actor and trafficker taboos objects. We saw his progression to independence in all powers, with his inconsolable grief, successive losses. But also its joys, successes, sincere friendships. A rich life, far from linear, it's exciting. A multitude of characters serve the purpose, all the more endearing than the others, and we feel, through his writing, as the author herself like them very much. They are multiple, complex, realistic. The style is rich, with a chosen vocabulary, a pace that gives breath to the narrative. This novel is a success and my first favorite 2015. Also I thoroughly recommend it.
Note: I recommend to read Prayers prior to this one, even if the story Sonax is upstream (or prequel prequel as say the Quebec!)
