I was able to experience some time ago, Sol Gabetta live - it was wonderful! There sits a pretty erotic woman (please no argument, her outfit she has surely not chosen at random) and is part of her instrument and the instrument a part of themselves - because the whole body is playing with and completed visually the acoustic sound in a pleasant Perfection. What comes haraus is excellent. Since that experience, I hear the CD not only, I can also see Gabette Sol. But even what is only audible to come off without blemish, played beautifully and worth getting. Why only 4 points? Now, the two transcriptions - the Violin Concerto RV 356 and the Winter from the Four Seasons - not quite meet my taste. Both works were written for violin, and I just miss the radiant heights. The deep growl of the cello meets mE not the nature of the two pieces. As an experiment, quite amusing, but whether it will go down as a highlight in the musical history others to decide.
