The unit is spacious enough to accommodate my 640er hard drive, which is quite thick. The connections are properly constructed and operate safely. The housing is fixed in the base and probably derives from heat well. Only I can not control this because I sustained no thermometer. I'm not there when the disk is recording TV programs or performs other work. If I switch to playback, then the device is working again and I am very satisfied.
