The dealer has many well-known brands as lenses demonstration models in the showcase, I ordered the 24 - 120 give and tried it extensively on the D610 from.
And ..... it is sharp, very sharp, but only in the middle, the edges sloping, well, only with massive enlargement recognizable, but still annoying.
Autofocus found in 2m distance is not always the point. He maneuvered himself annoying approached the object. Almost as if the mirror is ahead solved. Too far, too close, too far, too close, fits. (Should it 2.8 / 24 - 70 be?) The seller said that the camera will point not found in low contrast and the cause is not on the lens.
I let in reviews that there should be serious differences, I had to give me a new packaged lens, it joined to the same D610 ...... and ......
Autofocus runs with absolute security and speed to connect with the same object that was not recognized before. I did not want to admit it, so again focused to infinity and try again .... the same result. Zack - sharp !!!
Edge blur -null, overall sharpness - impressive, so it must be, that is Nikon !!! The lens is now in my home :-)
My tip: Who before has to buy this lens, should be ready to try any more, there are indeed differences.
My question: Lenses are composed largely in Asia from many small hands. Can there be tolerances in the components, so that a glass or spacer ring can be installed in minimal misaligned position, but by measurement of the green area is complied with? That would, at least for me, a plausible answer.
