Fading display makes operation impossible

Over a year now makes with the MD 86869 good services as a kitchen radio. Although the sound is not brilliant, but especially for speech-heavy stations it was good enough, and the longest time I had no complaints.
However, recently, the brightness of the display has become gradually so bad that I have to worry about the operation via the menu will be impossible soon. In daylight you can see the time no longer be read, while the display brightness is adjusted already to the highest value. What a shame when an otherwise still as good as new equipment for such a short time is usable for such a wearing part!
