Alone that this German label has released the "Carter Family" edition (not to mention the editions of Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash all) what was quintessential American folk music now, and have not even brought about the Yanks, drives all there blush.
Now "Bear Family Records" takes the issue of Vietnam War - on 13 CDs and a 300-page book mighty in which each contribution (It is not just about songs - even Nixon speeches etc. are with this) is specially declared and honored.
Most contributions would have been blown away by the winds of history forever, without ever ever anyone had it again can remember.
It's a hell of work to edit something.
DETAILED I still can not go - for 13 Cd's I also need my time.
But - hats off for this edition.
And: For sale - the rest is certainly not too high.
This box is sheer madness - there übrigends also from the same label a box about the music during the Cold War. (Atomic Platters - Cold War Music).
Only absolute music lovers bother to edit something in this care.
Thanks ...
