The novel presents a group of CIA-intelligence service responsible for spying on a great guru of international terrorism known as the Emir and preparing attacks in the chain in the US.
Clearly I did not appreciate this work. As stated in a previous comment, Clancy has sought to put his whole little world (Ryan Clark and Domingo Chavez) serving a scenario that seriously lacks pizzazz. A highlight: you get bored as the action is slow and confused story, which reaches this time the climax for a Clancy already famous. The last 100 pages of the second volume are more dynamic (too sloppy or ...) than the preceding 700.
I also doubt that the scenario is as good under to make such prose. The set is very predictable and some original sequences or unresolved are very rare.
It is unfortunate that this great author Tom Clancy was no longer with us leaving as "last wills" of very different quality works first. The series "debt of honor" and "in order" not to mention "red storm" will always remain models of their kind.
