Western Digital provided on its website (think before download) a limited version, but sufficient and free Acronis True Image to clone (transfer all system files)
the "old" on the new disc.
Within hours, that was it, my PC started up again with this new 1TB WD, much quieter and above all faster than the old.
No vibration is noted.
Be careful though: to perform cloning must have 2 disks (old and new) shuttered simultaneously in your PC. We must therefore check whether the cables are arranged in your turn, and where appropriate in order, because the price does Amazon book download: no screws or power supply cable or SATA cable.
If you have an old PC several years like me, this record will fit the bill at a much lower price that SSDs
(Old cards do not allow to get the full benefit of SSD).
Personally, I later bought a Samsung SSD, but 7200 rev / min + 64MB buffer rotates Vista almost as fast and costs less than my Samsung 120Gb SSD.
I just had a problem with Windows Update, which refused to work after cloning.
This is because Windows Update allows for identifying the disc and simply resolves as follows:
1. Click Start, type cmd in the Search bar, right-click cmd.exe
2. Choose run as administrator.
3. Type net stop wuauserv and press Enter, this command stops the Windows Update service.
4. Type ren% windir% \ SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old and press Enter, this command renames the file "softwaredistribution".
5. Type net start wuauserv and press Enter, this command starts the Windows Update service
6. After this operation you can re-scan for updates and install updates.
