The Dutchess (Audio CD)

Customer Review

In Fergie's debut can be found especially soulful songs. Instead of the well-known of the Black Eyed Peas' Fergie Party "Fergie gives us a deep insight into their personality.

The second single "Fergielicious" Fergie sings that she is not promiscuous and holds nothing of one night stands. JJ Fads 1980 song "Supersonic" - and Afro Ricans "Give It All You Got" sample, one can easily hear.

In "Glamorous" courted Fergie against any luxuries. "Mary Jane Shoes" against it shines with a reggae rebirth sample to "No Woman, No Cry" with the participation of Bob Marley's widow Rita Marley.

The reggae song "Clumsy" is about the slowness and clumsiness in love.

Little Richard Pennimans "The Girl Can not Help It" sample supplies the right amount of rock and roll. Another Popzitat holds the Raptrack "Here I Come" with the sample of W. Robinson Juniors "Get Ready".

Very sentimental, it is in "Velvet" and on the final ballad "Finally". In this melody but come straight forward to pre-Christmas feelings. But besides all this sentimentality shines the old Fergie at the one or other corner through: Ambiguous statements are not spared us.

"The Dutchess" thrives to present you Fergie's soft side. There is also a musical potpourri of Electro, R'n'B, Hip Hop, Jazz and Reggae garnished with a serving Explicit Lyrics of Black Eyed Peas frontwoman. The disk does not diminish, on the contrary, it draws its greatest strengths of the exquisitely selected Hammer samples as Afro Ricans "Give It All You Got".
