Kravitz is back with ... a good album, and even ... a very good album. Yes, this is still possible, surprising, but possible! This new delivery ranges from rock, funk and soul, all dressed in pure vintage sound we like. And what a sound! Pure pleasure, especially as the animal finally regained lost inspiration from "5". The disk is dense, funk songs / rock riff to effective (especially Love Revolution and Bring It On that open the disc) alongside of it (too) many more successful ballads (Good Morning, I'll Be Waiting). We are witnessing the same, happily, the return of guitar solos, beautiful for some (If You Want It, I Love The Rain, A Long And Sad Goodbye). Dancin 'Til Dawn is a marvel (which groove!) Listen loop, undoubtedly one of the best songs ever written by Kravitz .. In the end, only a little funk insipid Love Love Love and Will You Marry Me and the few ballads too late album are there to remind us that Kravitz has not yet found the magic formula for the perfect album. But where Lenny (album) Baptism and had 3/4 to 1/4 of mediocre good, Love Revolution has very good for 3/4 1/4 mediocre. A good ratio in short. And for those who occasionally run see the artist in concert: it's never been as good, obviously happy to be on stage, find and communicate with an audience (it was not always been the case in the past, particularly in its early stages), surrounded by excellent musicians whose great Craig Ross on guitar (Slash comes out of this body!) and excellent rhythm section (drummer hits hard but with a sacred groove ). And above all, a perfect sound (thank you to the sound engineer for the work of craftsmanship). The Lenny Kravitz believed 2008 was definitely a great surprise!
